Job Title: Librarian
Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Librarian to manage the school library and promote a strong reading culture among students. The ideal candidate should be well-versed with CBSE norms, library management systems, and age-appropriate literature, while actively supporting academic and co-curricular goals of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations of the school library
Catalog, classify, and maintain books, periodicals, digital resources, and reference materials
Support students and teachers in selecting appropriate reading and research materials
Promote reading habits through book clubs, reading programs, library periods, and literary events
Maintain records of issue/return, inventory, and library usage
Ensure discipline, silence, and proper use of library resources
Integrate library activities with the curriculum as per CBSE guidelines
Assist in planning activities like book fairs, author interactions, and reading weeks
Maintain digital library systems and assist with e-resources, where applicable
Prepare reports and documentation as required by school management and CBSE inspections
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors / Masters Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib)
Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking (PGDLAN) preferred.
Minimum 25 years of experience as a librarian in a recognized school (CBSE preferred)
Sound knowledge of CBSE library norms and procedures
Proficiency in library management software
Good communication skills.
