Note:
- 28-District-wise distribution is in Annexure-I.
- If no suitable woman candidate is found in a category, the post goes to a male candidate of the same category.
- No vacancy exchange between SC/ST categories or PwD sub-categories.
- Number of posts may vary depending on requirement.
3. AGE LIMIT (As on 01.01.2026)
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 42 years
(Born between 01.01.1984 and 01.01.2005)
Relaxation:
- SC/ST/SEBC/Women/Ex-Servicemen – 5 years
- PwD – 10 years
- PwD + SC/ST/SEBC – 15 years
Date of Birth as per HSC certificate only.
4. RESERVATION CRITERIA:
PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and Sports Person selections will be adjusted against their respective community category.
5. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or Equivalent from a recognized institution.
6. OTHER ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
- Must be an Indian Citizen & Odisha Domicile.
- Must read, write, and speak Odia (passed Odia in HSC or equivalent).
- Must produce proof of equivalence if the degree is from outside Odisha.
- No more than one living spouse permitted (exceptions as per law).
- Government employees must submit No Objection Certificate (NOC).
- Candidate must provide numerical equivalence for grade systems.
7. METHOD OF SELECTION:
Written Test only.
- Total Marks: 150
- Type: MCQs
- Duration: 2 Hours
- No. of Questions: 100
- Scoring: +1.5 for correct, -0.5 for wrong answer
- Qualifying Marks:
- UR: 40%
- SC/ST/SEBC/PwD: 30%
Tie-Breaker:
- Aggregate marks in Graduation
- Date of Birth (older candidate preferred)
8. EXAMINATION ZONES:
- Balasore
- Berhampur
- Bhubaneswar
- Jeypore
- Sambalpur
If few candidates in a zone, they may be shifted to a nearby zone.
9. APPLICATION FEE:
- SC/ST/PwD: ₹200
- Others: ₹500
(Online payment only; non-refundable)
10. OTHER INFORMATION:
- Admission to Exam is provisional.
- Eligibility verification can be made at any stage.
- Admit Cards to be downloaded from SSB website only.
- Appointed persons will come under Contributory Pension Scheme, not the old pension.
- Mere selection doesn’t guarantee appointment.
- Fraud or suppression of facts leads to cancellation.
