Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement of Teachers and Non-Teaching Staff on a contractual basis in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) under Patna Region covering Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal for the academic session 2026-27.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Recruitment 2026 – Detailed Eligibility Criteria

1. TGT (Music)

Essential Qualification

(a) Bachelor’s Degree in Music / Performance Arts from a recognized Institution with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject and also in aggregate, provided that Music subject is studied in all the years of degree as a main subject.

AND

(b) Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from NCTE recognized Institution with at least 50% marks.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Working knowledge of English and Hindi / other regional languages.
2. Experience of working in a residential school.
3. Working knowledge of computers.

2. TGT (Library)

Essential Qualification

(a) Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science from a recognized Institution with at least 50% marks

OR

Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized Institution with at least 50% marks.

(b) Knowledge of Computer Applications.

(c) Working knowledge of Hindi and English.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Experience of working in a residential school.
2. Knowledge of computer operations.

13. TGT (Physical Education Teacher – Male/Female)

Essential Qualification

Option 1

Four-year integrated B.P.Ed. course from NCTE recognized Institution with at least 50% marks.

OR

Option 2

Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Science / Physical Education / Physical Education and Sports from NCTE recognized Institution with at least 50% marks, provided Physical Education is studied in all the years of graduation along with B.P.Ed. of at least one year duration (or its equivalent) from any NCTE recognized Institution with at least 50% marks.

OR

Option 3

Bachelor’s Degree with Physical Education as an elective subject with 50% marks and participation in National / State / Inter-University competitions in sports or athletics recognized by Association of Indian University or Indian Olympic Association along with B.P.Ed. of at least one year duration (or its equivalent) from any NCTE recognized Institution with at least 50% marks.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Represented at least State or National level in sports/games recognized by Sports Authority of India (SAI) / concerned federation.
2. Working knowledge of English, Hindi and other regional language.
3. Experience of working in a residential school.
4. Diploma from National Institute of Sports.

4. TGT Special Educator

Essential Qualification

1. Educational Qualification

Graduation Degree from a recognized University / Institution with minimum 50% marks.

2. Professional Qualification

Any one of the following from a recognized University / Institution:

• B.Ed. (Special Education) with at least 50% marks

OR

• B.Ed. (General) with at least 50% marks along with One Year Diploma in Special Education

OR

• B.Ed. (General) with at least 50% marks along with Two Years Diploma in Special Education.
